Harbor Creek basketball player Brooke Przybylski and Cathedral Prep basketball player Jake Sambuchino have been voted Erie County Athletes of the Week.
ERIE COUNTY FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Brooke Przybylski, Harbor Creek basketball: The freshman continued her hot start to her career by scoring a game-high 19 points when the Huskies beat the rival Seneca Bobcats 46-35 on Dec. 20.
This week in the Cranberry holiday tournament, she scored a game-high 17 points in a 51-21 rout of Keystone and added a team-high 15 points in a 45-20 rout of Franklin.
Przybylski has averaged a team-high 16.4 points per game while helping the Huskies to a 4-3 record, including their current three-game winning streak.
She received 470 of the 1,693 votes, or 27.76 percent of the vote.

ERIE COUNTY MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Jake Sambuchino, Cathedral Prep basketball: He converted a remarkable eight 3-pointers in his 28-point performance when the Ramblers won 65-56 against California’s Knight High School during the Tarkanian Classic at Las Vegas.
Two days later, Sambuchino scored a team-high 18 points, including two more 3-pointers, in a 57-50 non-region win over Pittsburgh Central Catholic.
The 5-foot 10-inch junior guard leads the Ramblers (4-3) with an average of 14.3 points per game.
He received 481 of the 1,637 votes, or 29.38 percent of the vote.
